Intro to Outdoor Ecotherapy: Essential Tips and Tools

Wednesday, November 18
5:00-7:00 pm Pacific time
Zoom call

Clients and therapists alike are experiencing social isolation and Zoom fatigue, and hungry for more personal contact and time outdoors. And it could be many months before most of us will feel safe seeing clients inside our offices.

Taking clients outside can be a positive solution—one that allows us to safely offer in-person support while drawing on the powerful healing and calming influence of nature. Numerous studies demonstrate that contact with nature reduces stress, anxiety, and depression, boosts vitality, and sparks creativity. Nature-based sessions can be profoundly nourishing and healing for both clients and therapists.

Before you take your clients outdoors, learn some essential tips and tools for how to do this safely and effectively from two seasoned Ecotherapists.

In one two-hour intro session, you will learn:

· How to practice outside safely in the era of COVID
· How to assess client readiness, choose a site, and prepare for an outdoor session
· Key principles for designing effective outdoor Ecotherapy sessions
· Simple yet potent practices to help clients reduce stress, arrive in the present moment, open to deeper connection, and feel more resourced and resilient

The call will include guided nature connection experiences, presentations, case examples, visualizing an outdoor session, and Q&A. Handouts will include detailed guidance for working outside safely and specific practices you can use with your clients.

Join us to learn simple ways to help yourself and your clients connect with the healing power of nature to stay balanced and resourced!

Guided by Ariana Candell, founder of the Earthbody Institute and a leading Ecotherapy trainer, and Kai Siedenburg, mindful nature connection guide, Ecotherapist, and author.
